People who have much blessings have right and good thinking, while people who have lack of blessing have wrong and evil thinking. This is the relation between blessing and thinking.
People had good karma of doing good deeds and paying deep honor to the Buddha in past lives, then they easily have good thinking risen in their minds. Their thinking is always towards goodness, since their blessings keep their good thinking intact. People had created bad karma in past lives, now they’re easy to have evil thinking. For this reason, whenever our Buddhists realize their bad thinking to be arisen, then they should worship the Buddha to do confession, and do a lot good deeds to transform those bad thinking. Most of evil thinking come from bad karma.
If they have too much evil thinking, and they’re not conscious that the thinking is evil, it means they really have serious bad karma, and it’s really a big problem of their life. If Buddhists know very well whenever their bad thinking arising, then they have good root of Buddhist life. Because thinking and blessing are related, then people can’t be conscious of their bad thinking arising, they’re pitiable beings who one day might be punished to Hell, to be animals or devils.
Insane people had bad karma coming from their evil thinking. Extremely evil thinking always causes people to be insane. This is based on the Law of Causality. So, the insane must do a lot good deeds, worship the Buddha most of time to do confession. But the insane are not easy to do goodness, their family need to force them to do that. We have a story that a female Buddhist came home from mental hospital, her family was given the great advice that she must be forced to do good deeds. Her family should find damage roads to force her to fix them by herself. Those parts of the roads were stepped every day as if her mind was hit and then she could lessen her evil thinking day by day.
In principle, people speak up what they think. If we think about principle of compassion, we will speak about compassion. If we think about Non-ego, then we will talk about Non-ego. If we think about resigned virtue, then we will talk about resignation. However, talking and doing are the two different things. Thinking and talking are very easy but carrying out what we think, and talk is not easy at all. The distance between talking and carrying out is very far. The distance between thinking and carrying out is even further. That’s why our Buddhists must be careful with their words. Especially, people are likely to make an error of boast, which very much lessens their blessings. If blessing is lessened, then people find it very hard to create blessing. It’s said that “talk first, then work is never done”. It’s also induction. The old people usually learned from their experience when they made sayings that have completely corrected nowadays. So, doctrines should be contemplated in mind and carried out, not be showed too much.
